A Process Server Your Proofs Can Survive
Service of process for law firms across Los Angeles and San Bernardino counties — documented well enough that the serve stops being an issue in your case.
The firms that send us work are not shopping for the cheapest attempt. They are buying the absence of a problem six months from now — no motion to quash, no Order to Show Cause, no default judgment unwound because the proof of service could not answer a simple question about what the server actually did.
A defective serve never announces itself at the time. It surfaces later, in front of a judge, when the file is the only witness. Everything in our process is built backward from that moment: the attempt log, the photographs, the coordinates, the description of the person served, the mailing date. Your paralegal should be able to open the file and answer opposing counsel without calling us.
Court-ready proofs, photo and GPS documentation on every attempt, and a status update within 24 hours of each one.
Why Firms Keep Us on the Case List
Proofs that survive a challenge
Rejected proofs almost never involve papers that were not delivered — they involve delivery that was not documented well enough to defend. Substituted service with no diligence record, three attempts crammed into the same weekday morning, a miscounted mailing date, or "Jane Doe, co-resident" with no physical description is exactly what a motion to quash is built around. Our declarations are written the day the attempt happens, with the detail a hearing requires.
Photo and GPS on every attempt — already the 2027 standard
Beginning January 1, 2027, AB 747 requires proofs for personal service, substituted service, and unlawful detainer posting to include photographs of the site of each effected or attempted service, stamped with date, time, and GPS coordinates. We have documented that way for years, at no extra charge. Our AB 747 guide covers the full set of changes, including the new CCP § 473.2 motion to vacate a default with no stated filing deadline.
The 60-day clock, treated as your deadline
California Rules of Court 3.110(b) gives you 60 days from filing to serve every named defendant and file proofs of service. We calendar from your filing date, not from the day the order reaches us, and we tell you early when an address looks dead — because a second full round of attempts at a vacated address is how a case ends up at an OSC hearing instead of at issue.
Status you do not have to chase
Every case is tracked in ServeManager, with an update within 24 hours of each attempt and the completed proof of service returned electronically. Your staff stops spending Friday afternoons calling servers for status, and the client update writes itself from the attempt log.
Volume without the drop-off
Multi-defendant complaints, batches of subpoenas before a discovery cutoff, recurring weekly work — each address is opened as its own job with its own attempt history, and billing is per address so the invoice reconciles against your case list. Rates and the additional-person fee are published on our pricing page.
Servers who speak the statute
Personal delivery under CCP § 415.10, substituted service under CCP § 415.20 with completion 10 days after the mailing, posting and mailing under CCP § 415.45 by court order in unlawful detainers only, and gated-community access under CCP § 415.21 — cited at the gate, not argued about afterward. The method hierarchy is explained in full on our service of process page.
Escalation instead of excuses
When routine attempts fail, the job moves — skip tracing when the address is the problem, a lawful stakeout when the defendant is the problem. You are told which stage we are at and why before costs go up. The serves other companies return unserved are a meaningful share of our work.
Court research and physical filings
We work the East District courthouses — West Covina, Pomona Courthouse South, and El Monte — for docket research, record pulls, and physical filings, and we cover San Bernardino County courthouses on the same runs. We do not e-file; electronic filing stays with your office. Details are on our court research and filings page.
